- 1st January 2011 to 31st December 2012: Interim parish priest of St Paul Parish in Bandundu. My apostolate and parish work were based on healing ministry and counselling in the Diocese of Kenge, in Bandundu town, in the DRC. This ministry helped me to understand the psycho-social impact of poverty and the spiritual needs that arise from this situation. That was necessary to develop coping strategies.
- 1st January 2009 to 31st December 2010: Parish Priest of St Benedict Catholic Church. Duties: Ministering and conducting social assistance programmes to the Zimbabwean and Mozambican refugees in Rhulani refugee camp, situated on the outskirts of Malamulele Township in Limpopo under the project “A Hipfunaneni” (Let us help each other). That was a community-capacity building project that helped orphan and vulnerable children including refugee children in rural areas between Malamulele and Thohoyandou, in Limpopo (North Province), South Africa.
- 1st January 2003 to 30th March 2004: Assistant Parish Priest of St Augustine Catholic Church in Giyani, Limpopo Province, South Africa.
- 1st January 2001 to 31st March 2003: Parish Priest of St Fidelis, Catholic diocese of Livingstone. Duties: Evangelisation, pastoral care and counselling of people living with HIV/AIDS and families affected by the same pandemic. I also worked for home-based care — coordinating Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) parish outreach in Livingstone and Nakatindi community (along the Zambezi River) in Zambia.
Service in the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference and Tzaneen Diocese
- 2010-2011: I served as secretary of the Southern African Council of Catholic Priests (SACOP) for Catholic priests working in three countries (South Africa, Botswana and Swaziland).
- 2009-2010: Diocesan evangelisation coordinator (Diocese of Tzaneen – Limpopo Province) with the responsibility to oversee the good delivery of the transformative Word of God in 14 parishes.
Leadership and responsibility in the religious Congregation (Divine Word Missionaries)

- Triennium 2007-2010: I served a second term as a member of the Provincial Council of the SVD for Botswana, Zambia, and South Africa Province.
Community Engagement
- In 2017 to date: Founder of the Fraternité des Jeunes pour la Paix et la Réconciliation (FJPR) [Youth Fraternity for Peacebuilding and Reconciliation], based in Goma, North Kivu (Democratic Republic of Congo). This organisation provides psychosocial support to former child soldiers and works towards their social reintegration.
- 2017 to date: Founder and Director of Youth Advocacy and Peacebuilding Organisation (YAPO), a non-profit organisation registered with the South African Department of Social Development, under the Non-profit Organisation Act, 1997, Registration Number 186-161 NPO, based at Shakaskraal, KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), which trains the youths to tackle conflict non-violently and via restorative justice mechanisms.
- 2006 to 2011: Member of the evaluation committee for Catholic Relief Service (CRS) and the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief’s (PEPFAR) in the Diocese Tzaneen.
- 2004-2011: Commitment to childcare and protection in Malamulele (South Africa), and recipient of Archbishop Edward T. O’Meara award from the Society for the Propagation of the Faith for HIV/AIDS related activities.
- In 2004 – 2011: Chairperson of A Hi Pfunaneni [let us help each other, in Tsonga language] and Yinhla Community-based project for care of orphans and vulnerable children in Malamulele, Limpopo Province (South Africa). These two non-profit organisations helped orphan and vulnerable children access psycho-social support provided by Catholic Relied Service (CRS). The beneficiaries of these projects were mainly children and families affected and/or infected with/by HIV/AIDS in the Diocese of Tzaneen in South Africa. These organisations help child-headed families in 28 communities around Malamulele to access South African Government’s grants and open education opportunities to many orphans and vulnerable children; and that was not limited to providing them with shelters, counselling, and education opportunities. I ran these projects for 7 years (2004-2011).
